Philosophy of Education Statement

Teaching Philosophy I believe that education should give students the tools they need to reach their full potential, think critically, and grow personally and socially. I aim to create a space where students learn, think critically, solve problems, and enjoy learning for life. I'll check students' progress regularly through various tests to make sure they're growing academically and personally. It is my belief that students learn best when they're involved in learning when lessons are meaningful, and when they feel supported and valued. A good education covers academic, social, emotional, and physical aspects to help students grow in all areas. I'll use methods that put students at the center of learning. This includes active learning, teamwork, and applying lessons to real life. I'll also use technology to improve learning and adjust my teaching to fit each student's needs. A great learning environment is safe, and respectful, and motivates students ...

Teacher Interview

Based on your experience, what is the most challenging thing about teaching? The most challenging thing about teaching is meeting the needs of each child. Every child is different and develops at their own pace. I try to give individual attention while also giving a group learning experience and that can be difficult. Personal relationships are probably the most important thing to me. Children learn best when they feel comfortable, loved, and supported. I also try to build a sense of community in the classroom. Children not only need to form good relationships with their teachers but with each other as well. What...

Student Name: _____Pebbles Byrd_____________________ EDU 200 OBSERVATION JOURNAL ( TO BE COMPLETED BY STUDENT ) Observation Date & Time What was the lesson? What did you notice? What ideas can you use in the future? What questions do you have after this observation? 1/29/24 The lesson was about the letter “K”. I noticed that the children got bored quickly and the teacher kept having to change the activity. She would go from a sit down activity to a “Stand up” activity. One example is they started off with a story about the letter “K” then they danced to a song about the letter “K” then they did a color/trace page of the letter “K” and lastly they got up and looked around the classroom to look for things that start with the letter “K”. I can use this technique in the future to keep their attention and also keep them moving. ...
